Art Manager

Mediatonic is looking for an Art Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the Art team on one of our top-performing titles. The focus of this role is weighted heavily towards the organisation of a team and does not require an in-depth, hands-on knowledge of art tools or skill sets. With the support of a world-class art team to steer Art Direction, you will ensure that everybody on your team understands the where/what/why of the game's development. Your role will place you at the heart of conversations between Publisher, Production and the Art team, and you will be relied upon to formulate and execute plans to meet the sometimes competing priorities of each. In doing so, your focus will be to deliver a memorable game vision that delights our players.

Role Requirements

  • Ability to deliver the game vision (in collaboration with the Studio Art Director).
  • An experienced and respected manager of teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent sensitivity and understanding of Game Design.
  • Ability to understand and balance business and product needs.
  • Ability to champion the needs of the Art Team, representing them and their artwork both internally and externally.
  • Experience on multiple games.
  • Experience of project scheduling and tracking (e.g. using JIRA).

Desirable Skills

  • Creation of documentation to deliver help the art vision.
  • Industry experience at multiple game/entertainment studios.
  • Experience building teams.
  • Experience with outsourced art and external contract support.
  • Keeps up to date with gaming trends.
  • Demonstrable interest in art.
