Lead 3D Artist


Mediatonic is an award winning independent games developer with studios in London and Brighton.  We're passionate about creating original games that bring millions of people together.

We work across a range of different digital platforms, building connected experiences for partners such as Adultswim, Disney, Nickelodeon, Microsoft, SEGA, Sony, Nintendo, EA, Pixar, Universal and Warner Brothers. In addition to this, we design and publish our own games such as "Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess" and "Whos That Flying?!".

Here at Mediatonic, artwork plays a huge role in our development process and adds style and substance to our games. In this role, you’ll be designing and producing artwork that makes an impression and impact, giving our games a true personality and a life of their own. We are currently looking for an awesome Lead 3D artist to join our London office. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Model and texture high quality 3D assets and environments
  • Collaborate with the wider art team to define and deliver a unique and distinctive art style that pushes industry quality boundaries
  • Ensure art work supports and compliments game design and user experience
  • Assist with asset rigging, animation and in-game lighting
  • Participate in R&D of new techniques and implement into the production pipeline
  • Create high-quality roughs, block outs, in-game and promotional art that invokes personality and a strong narrative
  • Evaluate briefs quickly
  • Create original, high quality game assets quickly and effectively


We are looking for exceptionally skilled 3D Artists with well rounded portfolios and AAA experience. Other requirements are outlined below.

  • A comprehensive portfolio showing wonderful examples of your craft
  • Proactive; you will take on the responsibility for pushing the quality of your work and your own self development
  • Comfortable creating artwork in a range of styles
  • Solid knowledge of 3D software to create original, complex 3D assets for rigged animation
  • Nuanced modelling ability - such as character expressions
  • Able to model and hard/soft style 
  • Able to plan content in depth
  • Expert understanding of industry modelling and texturing tools
  • Able to plan and direct reference shoots, location scouting, moodboard gathering
